Eleven people died in Padalfata village during a deity immersion accident on Thursday. The victims’ bodies were brought back to the village Friday morning for mass cremation. Where villagers danced on DJ music the day before, grief now fills the air. 8-year-old Chanda, the last recovered, has two younger sisters who are unaware of her death. Authorities deployed heavy police presence. Additional SP Mahendra Tarnekar and DSP Anil Singh Chauhan are monitoring the situation. Political leaders will visit the families: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav at 5 pm, and Congress state president Jitu Patwari at 2 pm.
