Police have registered a case against six people, including three siblings, in connection with the suicide of a 14-year-old boy in Ratlam. On September 26, the boy hanged himself in a village under the Ringnod police station area. Initial investigations suggest he took his life after suffering repeated beatings and harassment. Seven days after the case was filed, police are still searching for the accused. Nude video made, threatened to make it viral
Notably, on Friday (September 26), 10th grade student Rudra Chauhan allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at his home. The family had alleged that their son was beaten up and harassed. A nude clip of him was made after confining him in a room. The accused threatened to make the clip viral. Distressed by this, he took this step. In this regard, on Friday (October 3), the family complained to Ratlam SP Amit Kumar and made allegations against some people. Thereafter, Ringnod police registered a case under sections 107, 127 (2), 115 (2) and 3 (5) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita against accused Harsh alias Lucky Chauhan son of Rakesh Chauhan, Sumit Chauhan son of Inder Singh Chauhan, Anurag son of Vijay Chauhan, Anurag’s brother Chirag and sister Neha and Krish residents of village Dhodhar Banchda Dera. Beaten and threatened over meeting According to reports, family members told SP that their son Rudra had gone to meet a girl named Chanchal at Banchda Dera in Dhodhar on September 25, along with two minor friends. At that time, accused Anurag Chauhan, his brother Chirag, sister Neha, and others allegedly beat and harassed Rudra. His friends ran away in fear. The accused reportedly took Rudra to Neha’s house, removed his clothes, and recorded a video, threatening to make it viral. When his elder brother tried to rescue him, the accused refused to hand him over and allegedly threatened to kill him. Abandoned in village, returns home Later, the accused reportedly took Rudra by car to village Parwaliya, left him there, and fled. Rudra returned home and recounted the incident to his elder brother. On the next day, he committed suicide by hanging himself. Family alleges police inaction After Rudra’s death, the family criticised Ringnod police for inaction and questioned Dhodhar police post’s response. They went to Ratlam to lodge a complaint with SP Amit Kumar. Holding Rudra’s photo and banners reading “Let’s be a voice so this doesn’t happen to any brother or son,” the family demanded removal of the police post in-charge and that senior officers investigate. Following this, the police registered a case.
