Woman raped and attacked in Mandsaur town:Victim in serious condition as accused remains absconding, angered locals surround police station demanding justice

A case of rape and assault of a woman has come to light in Mandsaur district. The accused allegedly punched the woman multiple times on her chest, bit her face and the surrounding area, and then raped her before fleeing. The victim has been admitted to hospital in a serious condition. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Sitamau police station area. The accused has been identified as Arjun Bagri, a resident of Rahimgarh village. Late at night, the police registered a case based on the victim’s statement and launched a search for the suspect. According to the police, the woman had left her home on Sunday to attend to some work. During this time, Arjun reportedly stopped her on the way. Family members admitted the woman to Sitamau Community Health Center. As news of the incident spread, a large number of people reached Sitamau police station. They started chanting slogans, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. SDOP Dinesh Prajapati and TI Mohan Malviya, present at the spot, pacified them by explaining the situation. Police said – the accused will be arrested soon
Late at night, the police recorded the victim’s statement and registered an FIR against the accused Arjun, son of Bhanwar Bagri, under sections 64 (rape), 115/2, and 118/1 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. TI Mohan Malviya said that teams have been sent in search of the accused. He will be arrested soon. ​
