In the Indore TI suicide case, MP government dismisses ASI Ranjana Khode after over three years. A departmental inquiry found she was blackmailing TI Hakim Singh, tarnishing the police’s image. She was posted in Dhar district before her dismissal. The incident occurred in June 2022 at Indore’s Regal police control room, where TI Hakim Singh Panwar shot ASI Ranjana Khode with his service revolver before shooting himself. Ranjana survived with a graze near her ear, while the TI died. The case was investigated twice, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) found Ranjana guilty and stopped one increment, but the Police Commissioner was not satisfied with the findings. An SIT was constituted to investigate the TI suicide case. When the SIT started the investigation, it came to light that there was a relationship between Ranjana and Hakim Singh. Based on this investigation report, the DCP Headquarters stopped Ranjana’s increment. Ranjana also got her transfer done to Dhar. One of Ranjana’s brothers died from burns at home a few days after this incident. He was treated in Indore. It is said that he was under stress after the attack on Ranjana. Later, after Ranjana’s arrest, he was suffering from severe depression. ​
