A 12-year-old girl died and five others were injured after being buried under a collapsing mound of soil in Sheopur district. The accident took place on Monday morning in Laxmanpura village under the Vijaypur police station area. All the injured were taken to Vijaypur Hospital for treatment. Women and children were collecting soil According to police, several women from Laxmanpura village had gone to collect soil from a nearby mound for plastering their houses. Some children had accompanied them. While digging, the mound suddenly gave way and collapsed on them, burying six people under the debris. Police were informed, and rescue personnel joined the effort. After nearly half an hour of work, all six trapped persons were pulled out. Girl declared dead, 5 others injured One of the victims, identified as Shivani, daughter of Pan Singh Kushwah (12), died on the spot. Five others sustained injuries and were taken to Vijaypur Hospital for treatment. The injured have been identified as: All belong to Laxmanpura village. Children under medical supervision Vijaypur police station in-charge Rakesh Sharma said that Shivani’s body has been sent for post-mortem. Doctors confirmed that the condition of the injured is stable, but the children have been kept under close observation. Officials visit hospital Vijaypur SDM Abhishek Mishra visited the hospital and instructed doctors to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured. ​
