A tribal youth was brutally beaten in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. The accused allegedly kicked, punched, abused, and strangled him. The incident occurred on Saturday in Panasi-Papora village under the Janeh police station area, while the video of the assault surfaced on Sunday. Accused alleged theft of water motor According to information, the accused Avanish Tiwari suspected that a villager, Vinod Kol, had stolen his water motor. He called Vinod to Chakghat and questioned him about the theft. When Vinod denied the allegation, a heated argument broke out. Avanish, along with his associates, reportedly assaulted him. Later, they brought Vinod back to the village and continued beating him. Video shows brutal assault In the video, the accused are seen dragging Vinod, throwing him to the ground, and beating him mercilessly. The victim has submitted a complaint to the police, demanding action against those involved. Visuals related to the incident.. Counter FIR registered Janeh police station in-charge Kanhaiya Singh Baghel confirmed that both parties have submitted complaint applications. A counter FIR has been registered, and legal proceedings are underway. The investigation is continuing based on the statements of both sides. Accused claims youth was drunk Avanish Tiwari, one of the accused, claimed that Vinod was intoxicated at the time of the incident. He said that when asked about the stolen motor, Vinod began misbehaving, which led to a scuffle. Tribal organisation warns of protest Tribal organisation member Vikas Kol condemned the incident, alleging a rise in violence against tribals in the district. He cited a previous case where police personnel at Jawa police station allegedly assaulted a tribal farmer. Kol warned that if action is not taken against the accused, the organisation will launch a strong protest. ​
