Picture of rain in the state on Saturday… Monsoon has departed from entire MP, but the spell of rain continues According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has departed from the entire state. This year, the monsoon remained active for 3 months and 28 days. The monsoon entered the state on June 16 and withdrew on October 13. Even after this, the spell of rain continues in the state. The spell of rain will continue even in the last week of October. It is worth noting that this time the monsoon had a ‘happy ending’ in the state. 30 districts, including Bhopal and Gwalior, recorded ‘very heavy’ rainfall. Overall, Guna is the district with the highest rainfall, where 65.7 inches of rain fell throughout the season, while Sheopur received 216.3% rainfall. According to experts, good rainfall has ensured not only ample drinking water but also sufficient water for irrigation. The groundwater level will also remain elevated. However, Shajapur is the district where the least rainfall occurred, only 28.9 inches (81.1%). During the monsoon season, the Meteorological Department had estimated 106 percent rainfall in the state, but 15 percent more water fell. Districts of Gwalior-Chambal division received double the rainfall. In 50 districts of Indore, Gwalior, Chambal, Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar divisions, the quota was full. Meanwhile, 4 districts of Bhopal, Ujjain and Narmadapuram divisions – Ujjain, Shajapur, Betul and Sehore – received 81.1 to 98.6 percent rainfall. The quota could not be met in these districts. However, in three of these districts – Ujjain, Sehore and Betul – the figure is more than 94%. Because of this, it is close to normal rainfall, but Shajapur is in the category of ‘heavy rainfall deficit’. Only 81 percent of the quota’s water fell here.
