Bhopal nurse dies in road accident in Vidisha:Husband survives, sustains minor injuries; accused flee with her cell phone, purse

A 25-year-old woman, working as a nurse in Bhopal died after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident in Vidisha district, the police reported on Wednesday. The incident, as per police, occurred on Sunday, and she succumbed to her injuries at Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal in the early hours of Wednesday. The victim, identified as Varsha Lodhi, had been married just six months ago. Accident unfolds on the way to Bhopal from Vidisha According to the police, the accident unfolded while Varsha and her husband Raj were returning from her parental home to their residence. Their motorcycle was hit from behind by a pickup vehicle, leaving Varsha severely injured. Raj, who was riding the bike, escaped with minor injuries. Eyewitnesses alleged that the driver of the vehicle not only caused the accident but also fled the scene with Varsha’s purse and mobile phone. The purse contained ₹5,000 in cash and jewellery. Varsha was employed at Maa hospital in Bhopal Varsha, a resident of Kamp village in Vidisha, worked as a nurse at Maa Hospital in Bhopal’s Ayodhya Nagar area, the police came to know. Her brother-in-law, Raj Lodhi, said she had gone to her parental home to celebrate Diwali. On Sunday afternoon, her husband came to take her back to their matrimonial home when the tragedy unfolded just eight kilometres from her parents’ house. After the collision, Varsha was rushed to a nearby hospital and was later referred to Hamidia Hospital, where she passed away during treatment on Wednesday morning. Accident captured on video A video recorded by a driver following the pickup truck has surfaced, showing the moments after the collision. In the video, the witness claims the pickup driver had apparently dozed off while driving, leading to the crash. Meanwhile, Raj has alleged that Varsha’s phone and handbag were stolen after the accident. An eyewitness told him the accused took the items before fleeing. The Dehat (rural) police of Vidisha have begun an investigation into the case. Varsha had met an accident shortly after marriage too Varsha’s family members revealed this was not Varsha’s first accident. Shortly after her wedding, she had fractured her leg and suffered head injuries in another motorcycle mishap. Tragically, within six months of marriage, she met with a second, fatal accident. ​
