In a major push for regional development, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 77 development projects worth ₹245.80 crore in Dhamtari district. The event was organized at village Kareli Badi in the Kurud constituency, where the Chief Minister inaugurated 51 key projects and laid the foundation for 26 new ones. On this occasion, he also announced additional development works worth over ₹83 crore for the district. Focusing on industrial growth, ₹16.61 crore has been allocated to develop infrastructure in the industrial areas of Kareli Badi and Bhakharmurla. In the infrastructure sector, construction and improvement of nine major roads will be carried out with an investment exceeding ₹79 crore. Additionally, ₹39 crore has been earmarked for drinking water supply and sanitation projects. The government also prioritized education and skill development, sanctioning ₹27.86 crore for new ITI buildings, girls’ hostels, and college facilities. A new college and hostel building were inaugurated at Kareli Badi. Under the health and social welfare segment, projects worth ₹50 lakh have been launched, including a new care and welfare center with modern healthcare facilities. During the event, CM Sai made several new announcements, including the establishment of a new college at Kareli Badi, approval for a new ITI in Jamgaon (Kurud), and upgrading Kareli Badi and Khakhri gram panchayats to nagar panchayat status. Other key initiatives include a ₹30 crore urban water supply project for Kurud, a ₹45 crore plantation drive, a ₹2 crore bus stand construction, ₹15.47 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and a ₹5 crore mini sports complex in Digni. These initiatives collectively mark a new phase of growth and progress for Dhamtari, setting the foundation for stronger infrastructure, better education, and improved living standards for its residents.
