Rukhsar, a resident of Dhar, has converted to Hinduism and adopted the name Vanshika. She married Vishal Rajput, a farmer from Undel village in Khandwa, in a Hindu wedding ceremony at the Mahadevgarh temple. Vanshika has pledged to follow the teachings of Shri Ramcharitmanas in her life. Childhood interest in Sanatan dharma Vanshika said her interest in Hinduism began in childhood. “I used to wear a bindi and saree at home. I also visited Mata Ji during Navratri,” she shared. Her family had originally planned a Nikah for her on 27 November. But Vanshika refused, saying she wanted to marry in the Hindu religion. “People of this religion and caste respect women, considering them goddesses,” she said. Vanshika and Vishal’s wedding pictures – Decision to marry Vishal Rajput When her family did not agree, Vanshika chose to marry her social media friend Vishal Rajput from Khandwa. She emphasised that her adoption of Sanatan Dharma was her own decision, without fear or pressure. Vishal, a farmer like his family, confirmed, “I married Rukhsar. She adopted Sanatan Dharma for our marriage.” Wedding on Harihar Milan Divas The marriage took place at Mahadevgarh temple on the occasion of Harihar Milan Divas. The couple carried the Shri Ramcharitmanas on their heads after the ceremony as a symbol of their faith. Hindu leader Ashok Paliwal attended the wedding. He said, “In Islam, conversions historically happened at the point of a sword. But here, the girl herself chose this path and married a Hindu boy.” Life guided by Ramcharitmanas Vanshika stated that she will now live her life according to the principles of Ramcharitmanas, honouring her faith and her husband’s family.
