In Bhopal, a speeding car collided with several vehicles stopped at a traffic signal, injuring one car occupant and two bike riders, and dragging one bike away. The accident occurred Sunday night around 11 PM at Danish Nagar Square in the Bagsewania police station area. The driver fled the scene but was later caught by police on Narmadapuram Road. Police identified the accused as Nikhil Bhalerao, 24, a resident of Bari Bareli, Raisen district. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol and had come to Bhopal in a friend’s car, which is a government department-owned commercial vehicle. Brought car to Bhopal for servicing Accused Nikhil stated during interrogation that he had come to Bhopal from Bari Bareilly for car servicing. On Sunday night, he was driving the car at high speed on Narmadapuram Road. Suddenly, he collided with vehicles stopped at the signal at Danish Nagar intersection. People informed the police. No one sustained serious injuries in the accident, but three people were slightly injured. Police have seized the car and registered a case against the accused for negligent driving and drunk driving. ​
