Birsa Munda Jayanti elecbrations begin in Alirajpur Jabalpur and Alirajpur are celebrating Birsa Munda Jayanti on Saturday. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Alirajpur at 11:25 AM. He unveiled statues of Birsa Munda and Chitu Singh Kirad. The CM said Congress had never remembered Chitu Singh Kirad, who in 1882 organised an army of 7,000 tribal men and women to fight the British. Cabinet Minister Nagar Singh Chauhan added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared 15 November as Tribal Pride Day, which has been celebrated annually since. CM launches development works worth ₹244.51 crore CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated and laid foundations for development projects worth Rs 244.51 crore in Alirajpur. Local ‘Ladli Behnas’ thanked the CM for providing financial assistance of up to Rs 1,500. CM to proceed to Jabalpur for state-level programme After Alirajpur, the CM will travel to Jabalpur. A Tribal Pride Mela will be held at Garrison Ground, Sadar, on Birsa Munda Jayanti. Over 50,000 people are expected to attend. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the programme virtually. Kranti Gaur, a member of the Women’s Cricket World Cup-winning team, will be honoured. Dr. Yadav had announced a Rs 1 crore reward for her and will present it during the event. Prominent leaders to attend Kranti Gaur hails from Ghuvara, Chhatarpur district, and took nine wickets in the Women’s World Cup. Governor Mangubhai Patel, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, Tribal Minister Vijay Shah, Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, and other senior leaders will attend the programme. All arrangements for the state-level event in Jabalpur have been finalised. ​
