In Indore, a doctor gave an expired vaccine to a two-and-a-half-month-old baby and assaulted the parents when they objected, even threatening to kill them before forcing them out of the hospital. Police have registered an FIR on the couple’s complaint and say action will follow after investigation. Rahul Thakur, a resident of Musakhedi, said, On Monday night, I went to Mataram Hospital on Sapna-Sangita Road to get my daughter vaccinated. My wife Roshni was also with me. I spoke to pediatrician Dr. Himanshu Agrawal about vaccinating the baby. A fee of 7,030 rupees was deposited at the reception. Dr. Agrawal administered the Hexa-2 vaccine to the baby. During this, my attention went to the vaccine wrapper pasted on the baby’s file, on which the vaccine’s expiry date was written as May 2025. We objected to this. Doctor accused of changing wrapper Rahul said, When we objected, Dr. Agarwal took the file. He pasted the wrapper of another vaccine on it. When we said this was wrong, the doctor started misbehaving. He assaulted us along with the staff. He threatened to kill us while throwing us out of the hospital. Parents seek justice after negligence Rahul Thakur said they took their child to another doctor for vaccination and then filed a complaint at Juni Indore police station. He said they want justice so such incidents don’t happen again, calling it a major negligence. Juni Indore police station TI Anil Gupta said, An FIR has been registered against Dr. Himanshu Agrawal in the matter. We are investigating.
