A 70-year-old retired teacher was brutally murdered in Ratlam. Her blood-soaked body was found in the bathroom of her house on Monday morning. It is suspected that the crime was committed with the intention of robbery or theft. The incident occurred in the Laxmanpura Mirakuti area under the Industrial Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Sarla Dhanetwal. According to a preliminary police investigation, Sarla Dhanetwal’s husband had already passed away. She lived alone in her house. She was supposed to go to Ujjain on Monday morning to attend a wedding ceremony with her relatives. Discovery made when phone was found switched off In the morning, when her brother Rajendra Jaiswal called her, the phone was switched off. Upon this, Sarla’s sister-in-law Lalita went to check on her at home, but there was no response. After this, her brother-in-law arrived. He saw that the house items were scattered. Inside, her body was found leaning against the bathroom wall. Her throat had been slit. Brother Rajendra Jaiswal, who had left for a wedding, immediately returned upon receiving the news. When news of the body being found spread, neighbors and a large crowd gathered. SP formed SIT
Upon receiving information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar, Forensic Officer Atul Mittal, CSP Satyendra Ghanghoriya, along with the in-charges of all four police stations, and a heavy police force reached the spot. SP Amit Kumar inspected the crime scene. The SP has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a thorough and swift investigation of the case. Suspicion of entering from the back route
Police suspect that the criminals may have entered from the back route of the house with the intention of theft and robbery. When met with resistance, they killed Sarla Dhanetwal by slitting her throat. However, police are also investigating the possibility of murder by someone known, while considering all angles. People in the vicinity are being questioned. CCTV footage of the area is being examined to search for the criminals. SP Amit Kumar said that “Investigation is being conducted keeping all facts in mind, and the accused will be caught soon.” ​
