Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Indore to participate in the Narmada Pravah Yatra–Unity March, organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Wednesday. The march, which began from Nagpur, received a grand welcome in Indore before setting out towards Dhar, Jhabua, and ultimately Godhra in Gujarat. Unity March flagged off from Patel’s statue The march commenced from the Sardar Patel statue in Indore, where CM Yadav paid floral tributes. Thousands of citizens, youth groups, cultural troupes, and social organisations joined the march, which was followed by a public address by the Chief Minister. Along the route, the yatra is featuring various activities, including CM slams Congress: “They did great injustice to national icons” Addressing the gathering along with Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, CM Yadav criticised former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and his family. He said that if Nehru had heeded Sardar Patel’s counsel at the time, Article 370 might not have been imposed, sparing the nation years of consequences. He further accused the Congress of committing grave injustice against many national figures during and after the freedom movement, allegedly prioritising one family above all others. “Patel always chose to step back and let others move forward. He was truly great, yet Congress failed to acknowledge his contribution. Had they recognised his leadership, he would have been the Prime Minister at that time,” the Chief Minister remarked. Bhavantar scheme event in Goutampura Later in the day, CM Yadav is scheduled to attend a Bhavantar Scheme event in Goutampura as the chief guest. The programme will include a roadshow, inauguration and foundation stone–laying of several development works, and dissemination of information on the benefits and expansion of various government schemes.
