‘The foot patrolling of police on Zone-4 busy roads, markets and other places in the evening is an important aspect of basic policing. It is being felt from the past that there is a need to bring more activeness in this important mode of policing’.

Reinforcing public confidence in law and order machinery, the Zone-4 top cop DCP Mayur Khandelwal marched with his team on the roads.

An audit of the monitored criminals list in Bhopal police zone 4 has revealed major gap including the presence of deceased individuals still being of ficially monitored. The findings emerged after Visionary Police Commissioner of Zone-4 Mr Mayur Khandelwal ordered a detailed review of the list as part of a special crime control campaign.

During the audit police found that several goons and monitored criminals who had either died years ago or remained inactive for long periods continued to figure on official records.

Police Commissioner Zone-4 Mr Khandelwal said that special campaign launched on November 1 2025 aimed at strengthening law and order by thoroughly updating records of habitual offenders and monitor criminal. As part of exercise, 20 goons were removed from the list, 13 due to death and 7 for having no criminal cases registered against them for over a decade. similarly 10 monitored criminals were deleted from the serviliance list. some names were also removed due to serious illness and disability. Police added 80 active notorious criminals to the habitual offenders list and 6 individuals to the serviliance list.
