Chief Minister announces increase in Dearness Allowance of government officers and employees from 55% to 58%

Government employees are the backbone of governance and administration. It is through their honesty, diligence and sensitivity that government schemes, policies and decisions are implemented effectively on the ground. The administrative framework of Chhattisgarh is functioning efficiently because of the hard work, dedication and discipline of its employees. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated this while addressing the 8th Triennial State Convention organized by the State Employees Association, Chhattisgarh, at the Saraswati Shiksha Sansthan campus in Rohinipuram, Raipur.

Taking an important decision in the interest of government officers and employees of the state, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that the Dearness Allowance would be increased from 55 percent to 58 percent, bringing it at par with the Central Government. He said that this decision would provide real relief to employees amid rising inflation and reflects the government’s employee-friendly commitment.

Addressing the convention, the Chief Minister said that such gatherings provide a strong platform not only for organizational deliberations but also for strengthening the resolve of good governance. When the government and employees work shoulder to shoulder, the path of development becomes smoother and the governance system becomes stronger. He added that over the past two years, the government has taken several important decisions in the interest of employees. Improvements in transfer policy, promotion processes and workplace systems have made the administration more transparent, efficient and employee-friendly. The establishment of the Department of Good Governance and Convergence has further strengthened a trust-based governance system.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that special emphasis has been placed on the timely payment of pensions, gratuity and other retirement benefits to ensure that employees do not face any inconvenience after retirement. The establishment of the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund and the passage of the Pension Fund Bill in the Legislative Assembly have provided a strong legislative foundation in this direction. Through e-office systems, online services and technological innovations, employees’ operational efficiency has been enhanced, while training and capacity-building programs are preparing them for changing times.

He further said that Chhattisgarh is rich in natural resources. At one time, Naxalism was a major challenge for the state, but the security forces have confronted it with exceptional courage and valor. Paying tribute to the bravery of the security forces from the मंच (stage), he said that a better and humane rehabilitation policy has been implemented for surrendered Naxalites.
