Former DGP Joshi’s Leadership is An Inspiring Chapter in The History of MP Police Said DGP Kailash Makwana

Felicitation Ceremony Held on the 100th Birth Anniversary of Retired DGP H.M. Joshi. Retired Director General of Police Madhya Pradesh Shri Harivallabh Mohanlal Joshi (H. M. “On the occasion of Joshi’s 100th birthday, a dignified function was organized by the Madhya‍ Pradesh IPS Association at Police Officers Mess Bhopal.”
Joshi was honou‍ by presenting him a shawl and a flower‍‍ at the function. Senior retired IPS Shri Joshi was honoured by the probationary IPS officer of Junior Batch (2024) and Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ujjain, Ms. Kajal Singh. The moment was extremely emotional and inspiring, which also reflected the tradition, respect and connection between generations of police service.
A documentary video on Shri Joshi’s life, service and achievements was also screened at the function, showcasing his administrative leadership, contribution to the bandit eradication campaign and his distinguished achievements in the police service.
Present Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, former Director General of Police, former retired and serving Indian Police Service officers were present on the occasion.

He adopted effective strategies to address the years-old bandit problem, especially in Chambal and Bundelkhand region. Under the leadership of Shri Joshi, the police carried out a planned organized operation against bandit gangs, which eliminated many notorious dacoits and surrendered a large number of bandits. All this resulted in new avenues of development. Shri Joshi’s leadership, devotion to duty and dedication to public service is still a source of inspiration for police officers and jawans.
Director General of Police Mr. Makwana said that Mr. M. The biggest feature of Joshi’s personality and style of functioning was that he always performed his duties with the spirit of ‘Karma hi puja hai’. He was deeply inspired by the principles of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and continued to discharge his responsibilities in accordance with it. He believed that the performance of duty is the supreme religion for any officer and if a person performs his work with complete devotion and dedication without any self or expectation, then that is considered true service.

Additional Director General of Police, IPS Association president C. Bal Shri Chanchal Shekhar celebrates 100th birth anniversary of Shri H. M. He congratulated Joshi and described him as an inspiration for all serving police officers. He said that the 100th birthday is an important achievement earned by him, which has been achieved by a skilled person through positive thinking, active lifestyle and purposeful life.
