Congress MLA from Datia Rajendra Bharti has been convicted by a Delhi MPMLA court in a fraud case involving the Land Development Bank. The court has sent him to jail as a criminal under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code. However, his sentence will be heard on Thursday. The verdict was pronounced on Wednesday, which has created a stir in the state politics. According to the case, the MLA had made a fixed deposit (FD) of Rs 10.50 lakh in the bank in the name of his mother. The FD was originally for a period of three years, with an interest rate of 13.50 per cent. It is alleged that the period of this FD was later extended to 15 years against the rules. Calling the change a fraud, it was considered a case of fraud. The bank employee filed a complaint. The complaint was filed by bank employee Narendra Singh in the court. The complaint said that the process of extending the FD period resulted in violation of rules and manipulation of documents. The court took the complaint seriously and ordered an inquiry, following which the case was registered and the hearing began.Based on the evidence and documents presented during the hearing, the court found Rajendra Bharti guilty. The sentence will now be decided in the next hearing. Following this decision, further action is being monitored at both political and legal levels.
