Punjab govt withdraws Harbhajan Singh’s Z+ security:Centre deploys CRPF at residence; Sahni says Kejriwal sought his resignation

The political row over 7 MPs leaving the Aam Aadmi Party is intensifying. The Punjab government has withdrawn Z+ security of former cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh. Soon after, the central government provided him with CRPF security. Security personnel are now deployed outside his residence in Jalandhar. Bhajji has not made any public statement yet about leaving AAP or joining BJP. However, Raghav Chadha had earlier claimed that he was among those who left. Chadha’s Z+ security was also withdrawn earlier and later restored by the Centre. Vikramjit Sahni claims Kejriwal asked him to resign Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Sahni, who left AAP, said that party chief Arvind Kejriwal had asked him to resign. He said he had considered it but was advised otherwise. Sahni added that “Punjab is in ICU” and needs strong support from the Centre to improve the situation. Sant Seechewal rejects claim of forming independent group Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal said that Raghav Chadha invited him multiple times (April 16–18) to discuss forming an independent group. He said he refused the proposal and did not attend any meeting. Sahni: we have not betrayed Punjab Sahni denied allegations of betrayal. He said they would continue working for Punjab and focus on development projects, including plans to generate employment for 10,000 youth. He also clarified that he would not speak against Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann or Arvind Kejriwal. On legal action, Sahni said constitutional authorities will decide the matter. He added that they are not ready to resign.
