The Delhi High Court on Thursday heard the Central Bureau of Investigation’s petition in the Delhi liquor policy case. During the hearing, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said she would begin contempt proceedings against the accused and others linked to the case. She said an order on the matter would be delivered around 5:30 pm. During the hearing, Justice Sharma said- Some accused and other people have posted derogatory and defamatory posts against me and the court on the internet. I cannot remain silent on this. I have decided to initiate contempt proceedings against some people. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma is hearing the Delhi liquor policy case. In the case, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was cleared by the trial court, has asked for the judge to be removed from the matter. CBI challenges trial court decision The High Court was hearing the CBI’s petition challenging the trial court’s decision. The trial court had discharged former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and 21 other accused in the liquor policy case.
