Jayesh Ranjan May Emerge Frontrunner If CS Extension Denied, Jaju Stays in Delhi as, Speculation is intensifying over the appointment of the next Chief Secretary of Telangana, with the next two weeks likely to prove decisive. Sanjay Jaju, a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Telangana cadre, is being seen as a strong contender for the top post. Currently on central deputation, Jaju’s name is circulating prominently in bureaucratic circles. However, his appointment hinges on one key factor — whether the Government of India issues his repatriation order. If Jaju is sent back to the state, his chances of taking over as Chief Secretary will rise sharply. At the same time, a second scenario is also under discussion. If the incumbent Chief Secretary is not granted an extension and Jaju does not return from Delhi, Jayesh Ranjan could emerge as the frontrunner. Ranjan, also a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Telangana cadre, is considered a senior and experienced hand within the state administration.
