Massive Plantation Planned Across Waqf Properties, Mosques, Madrasas and Cemeteries The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board’s statewide plantation drive, _‘Ek Paudha Bujurgon Ke Naam’_ — ‘One Plant in Name of Elders’ — was launched with enthusiasm and public participation in Bhopal The campaign was inaugurated by Dr. Sanwar Patel, Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board, as the chief guest. The initiative follows an announcement made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav during a scholarship distribution ceremony at Ravindra Bhawan, Bhopal. District Waqf Committee Chairman Irshad Ansari, office-bearers of managing committees, _Mutawallis_, public representatives, members of social and religious organizations, and a large number of local citizens were present on the occasion. In the first phase, the campaign was formally launched with a tree plantation in the premises of Waqf Masjid Madrasa at Khanugaon. Subsequently, plantation programmes were also organized at the cemetery near Safia College and the Waqf Masjid complex in Islamnagar, where saplings of different species were planted. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sanwar Patel said, “Plantation is not merely a means of environmental protection. It is also a symbol of our responsibility towards future generations. Through the Waqf Board’s ‘One Plant in Name of Elders’ campaign, we are strengthening both environmental protection and the sense of respect and gratitude towards our ancestors and elders.” He appealed to all Waqf Management Committees, _Mutawallis_, and citizens to take a pledge not only to plant saplings but also to conserve and nurture them. Large-Scale Plantation in Waqf PropertiesThe Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has set a target of large-scale plantation across Waqf properties, mosques, madrasas, and cemeteries in the state. In upcoming phases, extensive plantation programmes will also be organized in other districts. Notably, plantation drives under the campaign are scheduled at Taj Campus, Chhola, and sites in Narielkheda in Bhopal. The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has expressed gratitude to all social organizations, public representatives, environmentalists, and citizens for their cooperation in making this public welfare and environment protection campaign a success.
