Fifty-two boys and girls were caught in objectionable circumstances in a suspected sex racket being operated in Acorn Hideaway Resort in the forests of Nainital on Saturday night. According to sources, all the youngsters had come from outside states. Based on a tip-off, the police raided the resort in Ramnagar late at night. Ramnagar Kotwal Sushil Kumar has confirmed this action. He stated that the investigation of the case is ongoing and information related to the entire operation and recovery will be shared soon. Information received a few hours before the incident- Ramnagar police received information through an informant that a large party was going to be organised at Acorn Hideaway Resort in Sawal Deh, in which many people from outside were participating. Upon receiving the information, the police team, led by Ramnagar Kotwal Sushil Kumar, became alert and started waiting for the right opportunity. 2. Party begins and suspicious activities- The party started at the resort on Saturday night. According to sources, more than 50 boys and girls, who were residents from outside Uttarakhand, were present at the party. As the party progressed, suspicious and objectionable activities began there. Following this, the police began preparations for action. 3. Police raid, between 12 AM and 1 AM- The police team suddenly raided the resort between approximately 12 AM and 1 AM. The operation was carried out by SOG and Police Line Force based on the strategy of SSP Nainital Manjunath TC. The sudden raid caused a stir in the resort premises and among the partygoers. 4. Sex racket busted, 52 arrested- In a police operation, a sex racket allegedly operating in the resort has been exposed. Police have arrested 52 people from the spot. Ten young women from Nepal, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh have been rescued. Police are investigating since when these activities were going on in the resort and who all were involved in it. 5. Unlicensed bar, liquor, and cash recovered- Police also found an unlicensed bar operating in the resort. A large quantity of illegal liquor, cash, and objectionable material has been recovered from the spot. A list of recoveries is being prepared. Police are also checking licences, resort documents, and other records. 6. Manager absconding, staff’s role suspicious- In the preliminary police investigation, the role of resort employees has also been found suspicious. The resort manager is reported to be absconding.
