On Tuesday, Vijay shared a new poster of the film on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “#JanaNayaganFromJuly23.” The announcement thrilled fans, who have been eagerly waiting for the film. Jana Nayagan is expected to be Vijay’s final film before he begins his full-time political career, making it one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Production house KVN Productions also confirmed the release date with a powerful message on X. Sharing the new poster, it wrote, “Tested by fire. Forged by time. Built for history. The film was originally scheduled to hit theatres on 9 January, ahead of the Pongal festival. However, its release was postponed after legal proceedings related to its censor certificate delayed the process. The matter reached the Madras High Court, leading to multiple hearings before the certification issue was finally resolved. Recently, the CBFC granted the film an ‘A’ certificate, clearing the way for the makers to announce its worldwide theatrical release on 23 July. It has come to our attention that some people have illegally copied and circulated scenes and clips from the film, which is a serious case of digital piracy.” Notably, Vijay has not had a single flop film since his 2015 film Puli. Films like Beast (2022), Varisu (2023), and The Greatest of All Time (GOAT, 2024) received mixed reviews but performed well at the box office.
