Sarona and Balod railway stations developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will be inaugurated.

Raipur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shri Dayanand paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today at the Chief Minister’s residence office in the capital Raipur. On this occasion, he presented an invitation letter to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai on behalf of Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav for the inauguration ceremony of Sarona and Balod railway stations developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the modern passenger facilities, infrastructure upgradation and new look of the stations developed at Sarona and Balod railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. 

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a visionary initiative towards making Indian Railways modern, safe, accessible and passenger-centric, which will directly benefit the common citizens and the overall development of the state.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that Indian Railways is undergoing unprecedented transformation today. Railway stations across the country are being equipped with modern facilities, improved passenger services, and world-class infrastructure, giving new impetus to the commitment to a developed India.

The Chief Minister stated that railways are not just a means of transportation, but the lifeline of development, trade, tourism, and public amenities. Modernizing railway stations will be an important means of strengthening the local economy, increasing employment opportunities, and giving a new direction to regional development. He expressed confidence that the upgrade of Sarona and Balod railway stations will provide better facilities to passengers and will also provide a new impetus to the economic and social activities of the region.

The Chief Minister said that due to the coordinated efforts of the Double Engine Government, modern rail infrastructure is rapidly expanding in Chhattisgarh. Strengthening rail connectivity will boost investment, industry, trade, and tourism in the state, and make travel more convenient and safe for ordinary citizens.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate railway stations developed and renovated under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme across the country on July 17. The objective of this scheme is to elevate the country’s transportation system to new heights by making railway stations modern, accessible, safe, and passenger-friendly.
