The Chief Minister urged the Centre to grant early approval for 2,305 new mobile towers under the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) scheme to ensure uninterrupted mobile and internet services in Chhattisgarh’s remote, tribal, border and inaccessible areas. Mobile Network Key To Delivering Education, Health, Banking And Governance To Last Person: CM CM Sai said the state government is committed to taking PM Narendra Modi’s Digital India vision to the last village and last citizen of Chhattisgarh. In geographically tough and remote areas, strong digital connectivity is no longer just about communication — it is now a basic necessity for social and economic development. He stated that access to mobile networks and high-speed internet will enable citizens in these regions to easily avail education, health, banking, digital payments, online services and welfare schemes. The CM noted that due to difficult terrain, expanding communication networks in many tribal and remote areas has been challenging. Establishing 2,305 new mobile towers will bring a major transformation in digital inclusion and connect villages that have so far remained deprived of adequate communication facilities. Thanks Centre For Approving 577 Additional Towers For Naxal-Affected Areas CM Sai expressed gratitude to the Central Government and Minister Scindia for approving 577 additional mobile towers for Naxal-affected and difficult terrains. He said this decision is a crucial step toward integrating areas like Bastar into the digital mainstream. “Where a new environment of peace and development is emerging, a strong communication network will further accelerate growth,” the CM said. Better connectivity will strengthen dialogue between citizens and administration, ease communication during emergencies, and deliver e-governance services closer to people’s homes. NOC Issued For 489 Locations To BSNL, Process Underway For Remaining 88 The CM informed that the state government is fast-tracking processes for tower installation. Out of 577 locations, NOC for land has been issued to BSNL for 489 sites. The process for the remaining 88 locations is also being completed on priority. Installation work has already begun at sites where approvals are complete. The state administration is ensuring proper coordination through concerned departments and district officials to avoid any delays. Digital Connectivity To Power Education, Health And Rural Economy Highlighting the impact, CM Sai said the biggest beneficiaries will be students, youth, women, farmers and rural families. – Students will get better access to online study material and digital learning – Telemedicine and digital health services will connect remote citizens to specialist care – Banking, digital payments and DBT will become more effective – Villagers will no longer need to travel far for certificates, applications and other government services Bastar Moving From Peace To Digital Empowerment The CM said that along with roads, power, education and health, digital connectivity is now being given equal priority in Bastar and other remote regions. Connecting villages deprived for years due to geography will play a key role in their socio-economic transformation. Strong digital infrastructure will also open new opportunities in online education, skill training and employment for local youth. It will help rural entrepreneurs and SHGs access digital markets, and provide farmers with timely information on weather, agri-tech and market prices. CM Shri Sai said Chhattisgarh is moving fast toward digital transformation. The goal is that technology benefits should not remain limited to cities, but reach every citizen in forest and tribal areas. He expressed confidence that approval for the proposed 2,305 towers under Digital Bharat Nidhi will give a major boost to digital connectivity across remote Chhattisgarh.
