Providing women with respect, security, equal opportunities, and economic independence is a top priority for our government. Our government is committed to ensuring that every daughter in Chhattisgarh has the opportunity to fulfill her dreams and that every woman moves forward with confidence and self-respect. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai stated this while addressing the “Nari Shakti Samman Samaroh” organized by the Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium of the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College campus in Raipur, the capital. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai honored women who have made significant contributions in various fields, including medicine, education, sports, cybersecurity, journalism, arts and culture, agriculture, women’s entrepreneurship, social service, and women’s safety. He also released a brochure on the Nari Shakti Samman Samaroh.

Respected women are an inspiration for our daughters

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, congratulating and wishing the honored women, said that these women have distinguished themselves in various fields through their hard work, talent, courage, and determination. Their achievements are not just personal successes, but an inspiration to thousands of daughters who are striving forward to realize their dreams.

He said that honoring such women is actually honoring the feminine power that imparts values ​​to the family, gives direction to society, and plays a crucial role in nation-building. Today, the women of Chhattisgarh are showcasing their talent in every field, from farming to entrepreneurship, education, sports, social service, and modern technology.

The Chief Minister said that women have always been given the highest place in Indian culture. Our scriptures state that where women are respected, gods reside there. Addresses like Lakshmi-Narayan, Uma-Maheshwar, Siya-Ram, and Radha-Krishna symbolize our cultural consciousness, which considers women the foundation of power, compassion, creation, and culture. The state government is implementing this spirit through schemes and policies.

Women’s Commission should become a powerful medium of justice as well as awareness.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while congratulating and wishing Dr. Mamta Sahu, the newly appointed Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission, said that she has been given a very important and sensitive responsibility. Her experience in social and public life, understanding of the law, and higher education will prove useful in discharging this responsibility.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that under the leadership of Dr. Mamta Sahu, the State Women Commission will play an effective role in providing justice to the mothers and sisters of the state, protecting their rights and providing legal aid to the victimized women.

She said that the role of the Women’s Commission should not be limited to resolving complaints. The Commission should reach out to villages, towns, tribal and remote areas to educate women about their legal and constitutional rights. Women should be confident that the government and its institutions will be there with them, sensitively, in any difficult situation.

Women power gets new opportunities under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, women in the country have gained new recognition, respect, and unprecedented opportunities for progress. The “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” campaign has brought about a positive change in societal attitudes toward daughters. Historic decisions have also been taken to increase women’s participation and representation.

He said that today, President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu’s accession to the highest constitutional office in the country is a matter of pride and inspiration for the women of the entire nation. Prime Minister Shri Modi believes that the journey towards a developed India cannot be completed without the leadership and active participation of women. With this commitment, the Chhattisgarh government is further integrating the state’s women power into the mainstream of development.

Mahatari Vandan Yojana boosted the confidence of the sisters

The Chief Minister said that women’s economic independence is the strongest foundation for their empowerment. Through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, financial assistance of one thousand rupees per month is being provided to more than 6.8 million women in the state. Thirty-one installments of the scheme have been transferred to women’s accounts.

He said that this amount is not just financial assistance, but also a means of strengthening women’s self-esteem, self-confidence, and their ability to make their own decisions. Village women are using this money for their small needs, children’s education, health, and self-employment activities.

The Chief Minister said that keeping in mind the important festival of Rakshabandhan, the government transferred the assistance amount to the accounts of the sisters ahead of time. The happiness and needs of the mothers and sisters of the state are the government’s priority.

More than 13.85 lakh Lakhpati Didis have become the epitome of self-reliance.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that today, women in the state are writing a new story of economic self-reliance through self-help groups. Along with sewing and embroidery, agriculture and forest-produce-based activities, small industries, and self-employment, women are now also advancing in modern technological fields such as drone operation.

More than 1.385 million women in the state have become “Lakhpati Didi.” This is not just a statistic, but evidence of the positive economic change in the lives of millions of families. The government is striving to provide entrepreneurial opportunities to as many women as possible by connecting them with skills, capital, markets, and technology.

‘Mahtari Gaurav Year’ dedicated to the contribution of mother power

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government has decided to celebrate the year 2026 as the “Mahatari Gaurav Varsh.” This year is a year to honor the contributions of Chhattisgarh’s women and create new opportunities for them.

He said that the government is working extensively on issues ranging from girls’ education to women’s economic independence. Girls’ education is being encouraged through the Saraswati Cycle Scheme. Under the “My Daughter, My Pride” initiative, approval has been given for the construction of 6,671 girls’ toilets in the state, so that girls can have a better and more comfortable environment in schools.

The Chief Minister said that 481 Mahatari Sadans are being constructed in the state to provide women self-help groups with better spaces for training, meetings, and economic activities. During his recent visit to Jashpur, three Mahatari Sadans were also inaugurated. The Ready-to-Eat program is also being implemented through women self-help groups, creating new livelihood opportunities for women.

The economic base is getting strengthened by property in the name of women

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in order to strengthen women’s economic rights, property registration in their names is also being encouraged. Having land and property in women’s names strengthens their economic base and increases their participation and decision-making power within the family.

He said that the concessions being given by the government in property registration in the name of women are yielding positive results and a large number of properties are being registered in the name of women.

The Chief Minister said that women’s empowerment is not limited to schemes alone. It requires positive change in both societal thinking and systems. The government is working with a holistic approach to ensure that our daughters receive a good education, young women receive employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, women receive security and respect, and prompt justice is provided when needed.

He said that when a daughter studies, a generation is educated, and when a woman becomes self-reliant, the entire family moves forward with confidence. Only through the respect, security, and self-reliance of women can the resolve for a prosperous and developed Chhattisgarh be realized.

Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu stated that the Women’s Commission is an important source of hope, trust, and justice for distressed and needy women. Congratulating the Commission’s newly appointed Chairperson, Dr. Mamta Sahu, he expressed confidence that under her leadership, the Commission will effectively work to protect and uplift women’s rights.
He stated that the mother power holds a special place in Indian culture. Without respect and empowerment of women, the overall development of society is unimaginable.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that every parent dreams of their children achieving great heights in life. It is a happy occasion today that Shri Kriparam Sahu, father of the newly appointed Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, Dr. Mamta Sahu, is also witnessing his daughter assuming such an important responsibility. Extending his best wishes to Dr. Mamta Sahu, he expressed confidence that under her leadership, the Women’s Commission will work with sensitivity and commitment to empower the state’s mothers and sisters and provide speedy justice to victimized women.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is rapidly moving towards respecting and empowering women. Without the active participation of women, neither family progress nor the overall development of society and the nation is possible. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh is also rapidly progressing towards becoming strong, prosperous, and self-reliant.

Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said that the Silver Jubilee Day is being celebrated to mark the 25th anniversary of the Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission. This is an important milestone in the Commission’s long journey towards protecting the rights and dignity of women in the state.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, women in the state are rapidly becoming self-reliant and empowered. Various schemes, including the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, have given women new strength in their self-confidence and self-respect.
