The mere mention of cancer fills the patient and their entire family with anxiety and uncertainty. Therefore, a holistic approach to cancer treatment is essential. He said that when doctors connect with patients with intimacy and sensitivity, they not only treat the disease but also become a source of confidence and encouragement for the patient and their family. This aspect of human compassion, combined with advances in medical science, further strengthens the fight against cancer. Early detection increases the chances of effective treatment Chief Minister Shri Sai said that one of the most important aspects in the fight against cancer is timely detection. Detecting cancer at an early stage significantly increases the chances of effective treatment. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also prioritized timely screening and prevention of serious diseases, including cancer. Chief Minister Shri Sai urged the experts present at the conclave to consider modern technologies, research, and effective measures that can lead to early detection of cancer and make treatment more affordable, accessible, and accessible to the general public. Work is also underway to establish five new medical colleges. The government’s effort is to ensure that the people of the state do not have to travel far for treatment of serious illnesses and that they have access to quality medical care within their own state. The government strives to ensure that financial hardship does not hinder the treatment of anyone in need. The Ayushman Bharat scheme has facilitated access to quality healthcare for poor and needy families. Eligible families receive treatment up to ₹5 lakh under the scheme. He explained that through the state government’s Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme, treatment assistance of up to 25 lakh rupees is being provided to needy patients. The objective of these schemes is to empower families to focus on the patient’s health and treatment rather than financial concerns during difficult times of illness. Better health services reaching remote areas like Bastar Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is making special efforts to provide quality healthcare facilities to geographically challenging areas like Bastar. Under the Chief Minister’s Healthy Bastar Campaign, approximately 3.4 million people have been screened for various diseases. Of these, approximately 40,000 people have been identified and provided treatment. He said that the goal of comprehensive screening is to identify disease in its early stages and provide timely treatment to patients. Health services are being expanded in Surguja and other areas of the state to identify and treat serious diseases, including cancer. A 5,000-bed Medicity is taking shape in Nava Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in order to develop Chhattisgarh as a major center for modern medical services, a 5,000-bed Medicity is being developed on approximately 100 acres in Nava Raipur. This project will prove to be an important step towards expanding specialist and super-specialty medical facilities in the state. He said that with the development of Medicity, the availability of modern medical facilities to the people of the state will increase and the health sector of Chhattisgarh will get new strength. The Chief Minister also launched the Cervical Cancer Elimination Project on this occasion.
