In line with the resolve for a developed India, the state government is moving forward with full commitment to building a developed Chhattisgarh. Along with the construction of modern infrastructure in cities, civic amenities are being expanded so that the benefits of development reach every section of society. By harnessing our state’s natural wealth, human resources, and immense potential, we will together build a prosperous, strong, and developed Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said this while addressing the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of development works held today at the Municipal Corporation of Birgaon in Raipur district. 

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai presented various development projects worth over ₹135 crore to the Birgaon Municipal Corporation area. He inaugurated these projects and performed groundbreaking ceremonies, and announced new development projects worth approximately ₹110 crore, addressing the region’s needs.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Birgaon is a rapidly developing urban area. In keeping with industrial activity and the growing population, there is a need to strengthen roads, drinking water, sanitation, sewerage, sports facilities, and other civic infrastructure. The state government is working in a planned manner to address these needs. Over the past two and a half years, development projects worth more than ₹160 crore have been implemented in the Birgaon Municipal Corporation area.

The Chief Minister said that the development works dedicated and groundbreaking ceremonies performed today include Municipal Corporation projects worth over ₹94 crore and Public Works Department projects worth over ₹38 crore. Additionally, groundbreaking ceremonies were held for development projects worth approximately ₹16 crore under the Nagarotthan Yojana. The completion of these projects will expand numerous basic amenities, including roads, drinking water, sanitation, and sports infrastructure, in Birgaon and surrounding areas, bringing positive changes to the lives of citizens.

*State Capital Region will give new direction to the development of Birgaon*

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is moving forward with the development of a State Capital Region encompassing Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, and surrounding areas. This includes Birgaon. Through the State Capital Region, a roadmap will be developed for the planned, coordinated, and long-term development of the entire region. Birgaon will also benefit from this in the coming years, and the development of modern urban infrastructure and civic amenities will gain new momentum.

He said that development does not only mean building roads and buildings, but also making the daily lives of citizens easier. With this vision, the government is continuously making improvements towards good governance and ease of living. Through technology, government services are being made simple, transparent, and convenient.

The Chief Minister announced that a model registry office will also be constructed in Birgaon. Ten model registry offices are being developed in the state. Land-related services have been simplified through systems like online registry and automatic mutation. The construction of the model registry office will provide more convenient land registry services to the citizens of Birgaon and surrounding areas.

*Big announcement of Rs 82 crore for STP in Birgaon*

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced several important development projects for Birgaon. He announced a grant of ₹82 crore for the construction of a sewage treatment plant (STP) in the municipal area. This will help strengthen the sewage management system and improve sanitation levels in the area.

The Chief Minister announced Rs. 10 crore for the expansion of an overhead tank and pipeline, Rs. 5 crore for road and drain construction under the infrastructure head, and Rs. 5 crore for the development of a sports ground in Sarora. He also announced Rs. 5 crore for the construction of a Nalanda campus in Birgaon, equipped with modern study facilities, for students and youth preparing for competitive examinations.

The Chief Minister announced Rs 1 crore for the installation of streetlights from Vyas Talab Tiraha to Birgaon Nala and Rs 50 lakh for streetlights from Wednesday Market Birgaon to the Municipal Corporation office. He also announced Rs 50 lakh for electrification and repairs at the Community Health Center, Ravanbhatha, Rs 1 crore for the construction of a Sarva Manglik building, and Rs 89 lakh for the construction of an e-library at the Government College.

Chief Minister Shri Sai also announced the opening of a zone office of the Chhattisgarh Electricity Board in Birgaon. He said that all these initiatives are aimed at providing better infrastructure to the citizens of Birgaon and developing the area to meet future needs.

*After survey in seven areas, eligible families will get residential leases*

Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that he would conduct a survey in Ravanbhatha, Banjari Nagar, Shaktipara, Mathpara, Shitalpara, Urkura, and Mazdoor Nagar Sarora in the Birgaon Municipal Corporation area and distribute residential leases to eligible residents as per the rules. He said that providing housing security to poor and needy families is a priority for the government.

*Welfare of the poor, women, labourers and needy families is our priority*

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is continuously working to bring positive change in the lives of the poor, women, laborers, farmers, youth, and needy families. Approximately 1,600 Prime Minister’s houses are being built every day in the state. The government has decided to provide permanent housing to 1.8 million poor families.

He said that through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, regular financial assistance is being provided to more than 6.8 million mothers and sisters in the state. Thirty-one installments of the scheme have been released, and more than 20,000 crore rupees have been provided to mothers and sisters so far.

The Chief Minister said that over 5.60 lakh landless agricultural labourer families in the state are receiving financial assistance of 10,000 rupees annually. The Charan Paduka scheme has been relaunched, along with an increase in the rate of tendu leaf collection. So far, more than 50,000 devotees have visited Ayodhya to have darshan of Lord Shri Ram through the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan scheme.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s Swanidhi Yojana, he said that assistance is being provided to street vendors to strengthen them financially and advance their businesses. The central and state government’s public welfare schemes aim to bring the benefits of development to the last person in society and provide every family with opportunities for progress.

There is no obstacle in building a developed Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Naxalism has long been a major obstacle to Chhattisgarh’s development. The leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister, the indomitable courage of the security forces, and the cooperation of local citizens have led to decisive successes against Naxalism. This has opened new doors to development, especially in areas long deprived of basic amenities and opportunities.

He said that Chhattisgarh is a state rich in natural resources. It has abundant mineral and forest wealth, fertile land, and immense potential in its people. By better utilizing these resources and capabilities, the state can reach new heights of development. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has pledged to build a developed India by the year 2047. Chhattisgarh has a leading role to play in achieving this national resolve, and for this, we must all work together to build a developed Chhattisgarh.

*Ayurveda is an important part of our rich knowledge tradition*

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while extending his greetings on National Ayurveda Day at the event, said that Ayurveda is an invaluable asset of India’s ancient and rich knowledge tradition. The Central Government has established the Ministry of AYUSH to promote Indian medical systems, including Ayurveda. He urged people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, be aware of Ayurveda, and benefit from its scientific and traditional knowledge.

*Government committed to the development of Birgaon: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw*

Addressing the event, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that today is a historic and golden opportunity for Birgaon. Amidst the heavy rains, Birgaon has also received a significant influx of development. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sao has presented the region with a significant gift of development projects worth over ₹135 crore. These projects will help Birgaon rapidly progress towards becoming a clean, beautiful, well-organized, and well-equipped city.

He said that the state government is working systematically for the planned development of Birgaon. MLA Shri Motilal Sahu is also continuously working to address the needs and development projects in the area. Over the past two and a half years, the Birgaon Municipal Corporation has received development projects worth more than ₹160 crore, of which approximately ₹90 crore have been completed. This expansion of infrastructure and civic amenities will continue in the future.

*Beneficiaries received benefits of the schemes, Safai Mitras and Swachhata Didis were honoured*

During the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai performed house warming ceremonies for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He also presented demo checks for incentives to beneficiaries of various public welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, the Chief Minister’s Housing Honor Scheme, and the Noni Suraksha Yojana.

At the program’s launch, Chief Minister Shri Sai and public representatives expressed their respect for the services of the Safai Mitras and Swachhata Didis by washing their feet, applying tilak, and performing aarti. The Chief Minister said that our Safai Mitras and Swachhata Didis play a vital role in keeping cities clean and beautiful. Respecting their labor and service is the responsibility of the entire society.

Chief Minister Shri Sai also dedicated two new fire fighting vehicles to the Birgaon Municipal Corporation. This will further strengthen the fire and emergency services capacity in the municipal area.

The Chief Minister gave the message of environmental protection by planting a Rudraksh tree in the Government College campus under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
