Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. “In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Judge of the Delhi High Court, to perform the duties of office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Shri Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya relinquishes the charge of the office of Chief Justice consequent upon his elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India,” the notification says. The move comes after the current Chief Justice, Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya has been appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of India. The swearing in ceremony of Justice Upadhyaya takes place tomorrow.
