A female traffic constable was allegedly harassed and misbehaved with, by a woman and her son at Bhopal’s Retghat area on Tuesday, the police reported on Wednesday. The duo, as per police, misbehaved with the constable while she was performing her duties. Following the complaint, the Talaiya police have registered an FIR against both the accused. Routine checking turns tense Talaiyya police station in-charge Deepak Dehariya told Bhaskar English that the complainant constable, named Priya Patidar, was monitoring traffic in front of the Retghat traffic post in the city. She intercepted a scooter coming from Raja Bhoj Setu towards VIP Road due to the absence of a number plate. The rider was also not wearing a helmet. Upon noticing these violations, Priya asked the riders to pay a fine for the offences. Son loses temper The young male rider became agitated on being asked to pay the fine and said that he did not have money. When the female cop requested him to show his driving license, he refused, leading to a heated confrontation. Both mother and son verbally abused the constable despite attempts by nearby traffic police personnel to calm the situation. Accused threaten lady cop, leave from the spot After some time, the duo left the spot, claiming that a family member was admitted to Hamidia Hospital. Talaiyya police said that the accused are being traced, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest them. ​
