A young woman in Ujjain, who had gone out to play Garba, was lured by a friend she met on social media. The man, Fardeen Khan, took her to a garage and attempted to rape her. The young woman screamed for help, drawing nearby people to the scene. They caught Fardeen in the act and immediately called workers from a Hindu organisation. The crowd severely beat Fardeen Khan, leaving him bloodied with injuries on his face and nose. After the assault, the organisation members handed him over to Neelganga police station, where an FIR was registered based on the young woman’s statement. Lured under pretext of important discussion The victim told police that she had become friends with Fardeen via social media. On Thursday night, she left home to attend Garba. Fardeen called her, saying he wanted to discuss something important, and asked her to meet near New Ujjain Motors, close to Manchaman drain. Upon arrival, he took her inside the garage, grabbed her hand, and started molesting her. Community response and police action The locals acted swiftly, ensuring the accused did not escape. Immediate intervention by the crowd, combined with the involvement of the organisation, ensured Fardeen was apprehended and delivered to police, preventing further harm.
