Bonus announced for central employees: They will get ₹6,908 bonus before Diwali; Know if you are eligible or not The government announced a Diwali bonus for its central employees. The Finance Ministry issued an order providing this information. A 30-day Productivity-Linked Bonus (PLB) has been approved for central employees. The Finance Ministry stated that Group C and non-gazetted Group B employees will be given an ‘ad-hoc bonus’ equivalent to 30 days’ salary for 2024-25. The bonus amount has been fixed at ₹6,908. E-Aadhaar verification now mandatory for general train reservation: For first 15 minutes, tickets can be booked only with Aadhaar OTP From Oct 1, e-Aadhaar verification will be mandatory while booking general reservation tickets, just like tatkal tickets. Indian Railways had announced this on Sept 14. According to the Railways Ministry, Aadhaar verification will be mandatory for booking tickets in the first 15 minutes of general reservation opening on IRCTC website or app. This will curb fake IDs, ticket black marketing by agents and bot bookings. Electric vehicles will make sound like petrol diesel automobiles: Acoustic Vehicle Alert System mandatory from Oct 1, 2026 Electric vehicles will soon be seen making sounds like petrol and diesel vehicles. Companies will have to mandatorily provide acoustic vehicle alerting system in electric vehicles. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification to companies in this regard. With this system, when the vehicle reaches low speed, it makes sound like normal (petrol-diesel) vehicles. This alerts pedestrians on the road or footpath about the approaching vehicle. These rules will be implemented for new EVs from October 1, 2026, while existing models will get time until 2027.
