Bageshwar Dham’s pontiff, Pt. Dhirendra Shastri, has said that he will not hold a Katha (religious discourse) in West Bengal as long as Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister. He said, “We were supposed to go to West Bengal, but Didi (Mamata Banerjee) refused us. The permission itself was cancelled. As long as Didi is there, we won’t go; when Dada comes, then we will go.” Actually, Shastri’s Hanumant Katha was scheduled to take place in Kolkata on October 10, 11, and 12. Its permission was cancelled due to rain. Permission was not granted for the Katha at any other location either. Due to this, Shastri has now postponed it. He said – Neither in favor of politics, nor against it Shastri said on Sunday in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, “We were supposed to go to West Bengal, but Didi refused us. You understand who we are talking about, we don’t want to take names… Look, the permission itself was cancelled and permission is not being granted elsewhere. Where it was, it got waterlogged.” Then someone asked what I would say now, so we said, “Just say thank you.” That doesn’t mean we will abandon our work. As long as Didi is there, we won’t leave. When Dada comes, then we will leave. But may God grant that Didi remains. We have no problem with her. But she should keep her intellect sound, and not go against dharma. We are not in favor of any politics, nor are we against it. We are in favor of Sanatan. We were and will remain in favor of Hindutva. Raising voice against unrighteousness is also Dharma In Raipur, Shastri said- Ringing bells, worshipping, and applying tilak is not the only Dharma, but raising voice against unrighteousness is also Dharma. He also said that irreligious people from all over India are after him, but his vow is that as long as there is life in his body, he will live only for Hindutva. VIP-VVIP meetings stopped at Bageshwar Dham Earlier, on October 1, Pt. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri had said at Bageshwar Dham – Now, VIP and VVIP recommenders coming to the Dham will not be met. Only those devotees will get priority at the Dham who come as true devotees to seek darshan and blessings without any recommendation. Dhirendra Shastri had told devotees, ‘During my spiritual practice, our Guru Sanyasi Baba had rebuked me, saying that due to VIP and VVIP meetings, the suffering of poor, helpless, and devotees coming from far-off places remains unheard. The Guru has ordered that from now on, VIPs and VVIPs with protocol and recommendations will not be given priority at Bageshwar Dham.’ VIPs and VVIPs will be given separate time Shastri had clarified that if VIPs and VVIPs come to Bageshwar Dham, they will be given separate time. But the first opportunity will be given only to the poor, helpless, sick, and true devotees. Shastri said- We have taken a vow during our sadhana in the hut that Guru ji’s command will never be violated again. Meeting devotees and distributing Vibhuti every Thursday Peethadhishwar of Bageshwar Dham, Pt. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, had stated that now, as before, in the divine court, devotees’ petitions will be heard and slips will be made with the permission of Bageshwar Balaji. In the evening, during the darshan of patients, devotees will be given blessed and consecrated Vibhuti. He had stated that every Thursday, under the new rules, devotees will be met and blessed Vibhuti will be distributed from the temple premises itself.
