At Ujjain’s Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, the festival of Roop Chaturdashi was celebrated in a traditional way on Monday morning. Women from the priest family performed Snan of Lord Mahakal with warm water and applied fragrant ubtan. Adorned with royal decorations He was further adorned with royal decorations, including bhang, sandalwood, and gold and silver ornaments. After the worship, Annakut bhog was offered, and the Diwali festival was marked with an aarti using sparklers. Mahesh Pujari said – On the occasion of Roop Chaturdashi, Annakut bhog was offered to the Lord. Usually in Krishna temples, Annakut is offered on Kartik Shukla Pratipada along with Govardhan Puja, but in Ujjain this tradition is followed on Roop Chaturdashi. The bhog thali included rice, khaja, shakarpare, gunje, papdi and sweets along with specially prepared radish and eggplant vegetables. Attire changes 3 times at Indore’s Mahalakshmi Temple
