A major road accident occurred on Phalodi–Bikaner National Highway-11 late Friday night when a trolley rammed into a standing tempo from behind. The collision, which took place around 10 PM in front of Bhadu Restaurant on Malar Road, left four people dead, including a couple, and 12 others injured. Among the injured are three children, six women, and three men. Had come to harvest wheat crop According to Station Officer Bhanwaram, the victims were labourers from Madhya Pradesh who had come to Phalodi to harvest the wheat crop. Tina (12), daughter of Ray Singh, and Jagdish (32), son of Ramji, died on the spot. Jagdish’s wife, Pooja (30), succumbed to her injuries near Osian while being referred to Jodhpur. Injured rushed to hospitals, 2 succumbed Soon after the accident, locals gathered at the spot, and two ambulances, including one from the 108 service, reached under the supervision of coordinator Bhanwarlal Kumawat. The injured were taken to Phalodi District Hospital where PMO Dr. Abhishek Agarwal, former PMO Dr. Premprakash Suthar, Dr. Kailash Joshi, and the nursing team began treatment. Dr. Agarwal said that five seriously injured — Gopilal, Ashok, Babulal, Pooja, and Roshni — were referred to Jodhpur. Pooja died en route near Osian, and driver Gopilal succumbed during treatment in Jodhpur. The remaining injured — Bhola, Rambai, Kinjar, Sugandh, J Rahul, Roshni, Mamta, Anjana, and Rahul, were also referred to MDM Hospital, Jodhpur, late at night. Rear-end collision on Malar Road Rahul, one of the passengers from Madhya Pradesh, said the tempo had stopped by the roadside near Bhadu Restaurant to buy some items when the trolley coming from behind hit it at high speed. The impact threw passengers onto the road, causing chaos and panic. Station Officer Bhanwaram said that police reached the spot immediately after receiving the information. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem, which will be conducted on Saturday. Truck driver absconding After the accident, the trolley driver fled the scene. Police have seized both the trolley and the damaged tempo. The absconding driver has been identified as Bhagwana Ram, son of Devaram, a resident of Palli in Matoda. A search operation is underway to locate him.
