Madhya Pradesh will see drizzle, thunder, lightning, and light storms for the next two days. After that, the weather will clear from 6 October. Daytime temperatures will remain above 30°C, while night temperatures will drop by 2 to 3 degrees due to cold northern winds. Cyclonic circulation behind weather changes Senior meteorologist Dr Divya E. Surendran said a cyclonic circulation is active in the western region. Its effect will be visible in several districts of the state. Districts likely to see drizzle The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain or drizzle in Bhopal, Guna, Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sehore, Shajapur, Dewas, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Betul, and Pandhurna over the next two days. The rest of the districts are expected to experience bright sunshine. Weather to clear after 2 days After the drizzle ends, skies will clear and the day temperature will stay between 30°C and 32°C. However, due to the arrival of cold winds from the north, the temperature will fall by 2–3 degrees. This pattern will continue until the second week of November, after which both days and nights will become colder. Intense cold is expected to begin after 15 November. Temperature readings across cities On Monday, the day temperature reached 30°C or more in Bhopal, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Indore, Khandwa, Khargone, Ratlam, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Ujjain, Damoh, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Nowgong, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, and Tikamgarh. For the last 10 years, Madhya Pradesh has seen a trend of rain with cold weather in November. This year is expected to follow the same pattern. Coldest October day in 25 years Bhopal recorded its coldest October day in 25 years on 30 October, when the daytime temperature was just 24°C. In cities like Ujjain, Chhatarpur, and Narsinghpur, temperatures also stayed below 24°C. Indore records second-highest rainfall in 10 years In October, Madhya Pradesh received its highest rainfall in two years. Among districts, Sheopur topped with 6.52 inches, followed by Jhabua (5.52 inches), Singrauli (5.35 inches), Sidhi (5 inches), Umaria (4.14 inches), Anuppur (4.82 inches), Barwani (4.21 inches), and Bhind (4.36 inches). Khandwa was the only district with rainfall below normal. All other 53 districts recorded higher-than-average rainfall. Strong monsoon, abundant water levels This year, the monsoon also ended on a positive note. Shajapur, however, received the least rainfall — only 28.9 inches (81.1%) of normal. November to bring chilly nights The effect of cold will rise from the second week of November, especially in the Gwalior-Chambal region, where northern winds blow directly. Historically, Gwalior’s minimum temperature had dropped to 3°C in November 56 years ago, and Ujjain’s to 2.3°C about 52 years ago. In Bhopal, Indore, and Jabalpur, rain is also possible this month — likely in the first, third, and fourth weeks due to new weather systems.
