MP High Court has issued notices to Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, the MP Government, and Nirmala Sapre seeking a response in the defection case of Nirmala Sapre, who became MLA after winning the election on a Congress ticket from the Bina assembly seat of Sagar district. While hearing the petition of Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, the MP High Court asked the Assembly Speaker what action had been taken in this matter. The next hearing of the case will be on November 18. On the petition of Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, the Assembly Speaker’s lawyer objected, arguing that this case cannot be heard in the Division Bench. Rejecting this argument, the court has issued notice to the Assembly Speaker asking why no decision was made in 16 months when the petition seeking the disqualification of Nirmala Sapre in the defection case should have been decided within 90 days. The court has sought a response from Assembly Speaker Nirmala Sapre and the MP Government by November 18.
