A grand and dignified program was organized today at Town Hall, Shastri Chowk, on the occasion of Constitution Day. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai attended the event as the Chief Guest. He paid homage to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar by garlanding his statue and portrait. In the presence of the Chief Minister, the Preamble of the Constitution was read collectively, with enthusiastic participation from all guests, officials, and students. Chief Minister Shri Sai delivered an inspiring address on the importance of the Constitution, its values, and the duties of citizens. He said that the Constitution is not merely a document but the foundation of India’s democratic values. Shri Sai added, “It is a matter of great fortune that we all have gathered to celebrate the 75th Constitution Day. Heartiest greetings and best wishes to all of you on this occasion.” The Chief Minister began the program with chants in honor of Bharat Mata and Chhattisgarh Mahtari, followed by paying homage to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. On this occasion, he also visited the exhibition based on Constitution Day. Shri Vishnudev Sai said that the Constitution is not just a book but a sacred text that grants every Indian the right to live freely and express their thoughts with dignity in society. He said that India is the world’s largest democratic nation, and it is because of the Constitution that even an ordinary citizen can reach the highest positions in the country. The Constitution encompasses provisions for the development of all sections of society, and inclusive growth is taking place. Highlighting Chhattisgarh’s contribution to the making of the Constitution, Shri Sai noted that people from across the nation participated in drafting it. He said, “Our pride of Chhattisgarh—Pandit Ravishankar Shukla, Barrister Chedilal, and Dr. Ghanshyam Gupta—were also members of the committee. On this occasion, we pay our respects to all of them.”Following this, a five-minute short film based on the Constitution was screened. The film showcased the spirit of the Constitution and how it laid the foundation for the nation’s development, which was appreciated by the audience. The program was attended by MLA Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Sunil Soni, District Panchayat President Shri Naveen Agrawal, Secretary of Public Relations & Culture Dr. Rohit Yadav, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, Municipal Commissioner Shri Vishwadeep, District Panchayat CEO Shri Kumar Bishwaranjan, senior public representatives, and many distinguished citizens.
