The Indian equity benchmarks extended losses on Monday, December 29, 2025 as thin trading volumes were observed on the BSE and NSE amid a strong rally in metals. Plus, the year-end holiday season kept investors on the sidelines on Dalal Street. The 30-company Sensex closed negatively at 84,695.54 points, registering a fall of 345.91 points. Among the sectoral indices on the NSE, barring fmcg, media and psu bank, all other major stock gauges witnessed selling pressure. In other Asian markets, the trading was mixed Domestic Investors Bought Shares Worth ₹1,773 crore Sensex closed 367 points down on Friday The stock market declined on the last trading day of the week, Friday, December 26. Sensex closed 367 points lower at 85,041. Nifty also fell by 100 points, closing at 26,042. ​
