Raghav Chadha has been appointed chairman of the Rajya Sabha’s Committee on Petitions following the panel’s reconstitution by Upper House Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan, according to an official notification issued on May 20. “Raghav Chadha has been appointed chairman of the committee,” a Rajya Sabha notification said. The notification stated that the committee had been reconstituted with immediate effect from May 20, with Chadha named to lead the 10-member panel after his recent switch from the Aam Aadmi Party to the Bharatiya Janata Party. The other members nominated to the Committee on Petitions are Harsh Mahajan, Gulam Ali, Shambhu Sharan Patel, Mayankkumar Nayak, Masthan Rao Yadav Beedha, Jebi Mather Hisham, Subhasish Khuntia, Rwngwra Narzary and Sandosh Kumar P. In a separate notification, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat announced that Menaka Guruswamy had been nominated by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha to serve on the Joint Committee examining the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The nomination took effect on May 20, 2026. Meanwhile, in another notification issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Speaker Arvind Ganpat Sawant was nominated to the same Joint Committee with effect from May 21, 2026. ​
