In a shocking case from Bihar, a young man from the Muslim Community has been accused of filming obscene videos of multiple girls belonging to the Hindu community. In the police investigation in Gayaji, videos of 6 girls have been found so far. The family of a minor girl has filed an FIR against the accused, identified as Rehan Ansari. The investigation has revealed that the accused, Rehan, used to trap minor girls by making reels on social media. After that, he would establish relationships with them. During this time, he would also make videos. The police investigation has revealed that Rehan had targeted 20 girls. After the matter was exposed, he fled to Delhi. The police are searching for him. An FIR has been registered against him under several serious sections, including the POCSO Act. How was Rehan exposed? How did he trap girls of a particular community in his net? What does his family have to say? Read the report… First know, how Rehan’s secret was revealed The incident took place on the afternoon of June 22, when Rehan was allegedly caught red-handed at the sacred Banke Dham hill in Bihar’s Gaya district. Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar on the condition of anonymity, locals who witnessed the incident recounted the sequence of events. According to them, Rehan and the minor girl arrived at the famous Banke Dham hill in Banke Bazar through separate routes. The hill is home to an ancient Shivling dedicated to Lord Shiva and is regarded as a sacred site by devotees. At the time, four local youths were roaming around the hill when they noticed Rehan, followed shortly by the minor girl. Seeing both of them walk towards the Sun Temple together aroused their suspicion. The young mens discreetly followed the pair as they left the main trail and went behind a large rock. They then moved closer and allegedly recorded Rehan engaging in obscene acts with the girl on their mobile phones. Phone gallery allegedly exposed the case After recording the incident, the locals confronted Rehan and the girl. Rehan allegedly fled, leaving the minor behind. When asked for her father’s phone number, the girl allegedly gave Rehan’s number instead. When the locals called, Rehan allegedly answered, pretending to be the girl’s father. Suspicious of his voice, they refused to release the girl and said they would inform the police. Rehan soon returned to the spot, where the locals seized his phone. On checking its gallery, they allegedly found several obscene videos. Over 70 videos under investigation Police said more than 70 obscene videos were found on the accused’s phone, many reportedly 20–25 minutes long. Investigators suspect the girls featured in the videos were deliberately targeted. The videos have been sent for forensic examination, and the victim has recorded her statement before the police. Isolated hill under scanner Locals say Banke Dham hill remains deserted for most of the day and is surrounded by dense forests and rocky terrain, making it a vulnerable spot for criminal activities. Police probe alleged modus operandi According to local residents quoted by Dainik Bhaskar, Rehan previously worked at a mobile phone shop before running a momo stall with his maternal uncle in Banke Bazar. Residents alleged that he would offer free momos to school- and coaching-going girls, use the interactions to befriend them, obtain their phone numbers, and later connect with them through social media. They also claimed he was obsessed with creating and sharing reels online. Father says, ‘He wants son to surrender’ Rehan’s father, Dukhan Ansari, a tailor, claimed he had no knowledge of his son’s alleged activities. He said Rehan never contributed financially to the family despite running a momo stall and was mainly interested in mobile phones and making reels. He added that he had learned Rehan was hiding in Delhi and was trying, through relatives, to persuade him to surrender before a court or the police. He also said Rehan’s maternal uncle had been absconding since the incident. Victim’s family vacates rented house When the Dainik Bhaskar team visited the victim’s rented accommodation, they found the house locked. Neighbours said the family had vacated the room soon after the incident. The girl had reportedly moved there around six weeks earlier and was preparing for competitive exams. A torn slip from a local library, where she reportedly paid a monthly fee of ₹400, was found in the room. Videos sent for forensic examination Banke Bazar SHO Pawan Kumar said the victim’s statement under Section 164 has been recorded and police have conducted raids at the accused’s residence and other suspected hideouts. He said the videos recovered from the accused’s phone have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Investigators are examining whether they were made solely for blackmail or if a larger criminal network was involved.
