The last rites of 11-year-old Vihaan Srivastava, who was killed after a tree fell on his school bus in Mumbai, were held on Wednesday. Fulfilling his family’s wish, Vihaan was cremated with a cricket ball ,a tribute to his dream of becoming a professional cricketer. Family members said Vihaan was passionate about cricket and hoped to one day play the sport professionally. Neighbours said the tragic accident on Tuesday afternoon brought those dreams to an abrupt end. A relative, Anil, said Vihaan’s mother, Juhi, remains inconsolable. She has been sitting at home clutching her son’s cricket bat to her chest, repeatedly saying that Vihaan would soon be leaving to play cricket. The tragedy occurred on Tuesday when a nearly 70-year-old peepal tree in Mumbai’s Chembur area collapsed onto a school bus. At home, mother Juhi is sitting with her son’s cricket bat clutched to her chest. She keeps repeating that Vihan will go to play now. Neighbors say that his mother still cannot believe that her son is no longer in this world. She is holding his cricket bat and believes that her son will come home now and go to play on the field. ​
