The Vadodara Rural Police have finally apprehended the accused involved in the firing incident on a garment trader in Vadodara. On the night of 26 June, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, a trader was going home from his shop in his car at Waghodia Chokdi. At that time, two unknown individuals on a motorcycle fired upon him. Following this incident, a case was registered at Varnama Police Station early in the morning. In this, both accused Vikram Pratap Singh and Gurjeet Singh were apprehended from Durg, Chhattisgarh, and brought to Vadodara. IG Sandeep Singh stated that the main connection in this case has emerged from Fiji. The complainant, Ashish Kumar, worked for ‘Dayal Steel’ company in Fiji two and a half years ago. Due to a dispute with the company owner, Jai Dayal, he left the job and returned to India. Subsequently, Vikram Pratap Singh took Ashish’s place in the job. Gradually, Jai Dayal convinced Vikram Pratap Singh and gave him a contract to kill Ashish. Along with this, Jai Dayal sent Rs 2.72 lakh to Vikram’s wife’s bank account. The second time they came for reconnaissance, they stole a bike from Jharkhand and traveled for four days to reach Vadodara. The bike’s numbers were also fake. Previously, they used to travel to and from Vadodara by train. On 19 June, they left the bike at the railway station and returned to Chhattisgarh by train. On 25 June, they came to Vadodara by train, took the bike from the railway station, and watched the movie ‘Zindagi Once More’ at Pooja Mall.
