The Vadodara Rural Police have finally apprehended the accused involved in the firing incident on a garment trader in Vadodara. In the case of firing on the trader at Waghodia Chokdi on 26 June, the police have uncovered a conspiracy with international connections. Two accused, who came to execute a contract given from Fiji, have been apprehended from Chhattisgarh. The police have initiated proceedings for the remand of both accused. Two individuals fired upon trader On the night of 26 June, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, a trader was going home from his shop in his car at Waghodia Chokdi. At that time, two unknown individuals on a motorcycle fired upon him. Following this incident, a case was registered at Varnama Police Station early in the morning. Ashish Kumar Madanlal Bakolia (originally from Delhi, who trades in clothes in Vadodara) was the victim in the incident. Investigation by police teams, including LCB, SOG Considering the seriousness of the incident, under the guidance of SP Vadodara Rural Sushil Agrawal, more than 10 teams of LCB, SOG, and Varnama Police were formed. During the investigation, more than 2000 CCTV footages were examined. The suspicious bike (GJ 06 AO 9199) was identified and its movement was traced. In this, both accused Vikram Pratap Singh and Gurjeet Singh were apprehended from Durg, Chhattisgarh, and brought to Vadodara. A pistol used in the crime, two magazines, and 10 cartridges were recovered from them. International connection behind firing on businessman IG Sandeep Singh stated that the main connection in this case has emerged from Fiji. The complainant, Ashish Kumar, worked for ‘Dayal Steel’ company in Fiji two and a half years ago. Due to a dispute with the company owner, Jai Dayal, he left the job and returned to India. Subsequently, Vikram Pratap Singh took Ashish’s place in the job. Gradually, Jai Dayal convinced Vikram Pratap Singh and gave him a contract to kill Ashish. Along with this, Jai Dayal sent Rs 2.72 lakh to Vikram’s wife’s bank account. From this, Vikram gave a contract to the notorious Gurjeet Singh of Chhattisgarh for Rs 50,000. Came to Vadodara 8 times in two months and conducted reconnaissance Furthermore, IG Sandeep Singh stated that the accused had come to Vadodara 7 to 8 times in the last two months and conducted reconnaissance of the complainant. They also stayed in two hotels. The second time they came for reconnaissance, they stole a bike from Jharkhand and traveled for four days to reach Vadodara. The bike’s numbers were also fake. Previously, they used to travel to and from Vadodara by train. On 19 June, they left the bike at the railway station and returned to Chhattisgarh by train. On 25 June, they came to Vadodara by train, took the bike from the railway station, and watched the movie ‘Zindagi Once More’ at Pooja Mall. On 26 June, before committing the crime, they watched the movie ‘Dhurandhar’ at Bansal Mall. After committing the crime, they fled to Chhattisgarh by train. Accused’s criminal history Approximately 19 crimes have been registered against the notorious Gurjit Singh in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
