A passenger was injured after a window detached from a Ryanair flight travelling from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, causing the cabin to suddenly lose pressure. A 61-year-old passenger’s head and shoulders were pulled outside the aircraft, but his seatbelt prevented him from being completely sucked out. Passengers sitting nearby quickly pulled him back into the cabin. The incident happened while the aircraft was flying at an altitude of 30,000 feet. Ryanair said the passenger suffered injuries and was taken to hospital, where he is in a stable condition. The incident took place over North Macedonia. The injured passenger is a Serbian national who suffered burn-like injuries. According to the passenger, oxygen masks dropped from the ceiling and a strong smell spread through the cabin. She then saw that a man’s head and shoulders had been pulled outside through the broken window. As he was still wearing his seatbelt, nearby passengers managed to pull him back inside. However, the exact cause has not yet been officially confirmed. Ryanair said the aircraft returned to Thessaloniki shortly after take-off after a passenger window detached. The plane landed safely, and all passengers were taken to the terminal. The airline said a replacement aircraft was arranged to fly the remaining passengers to Memmingen.
