Hours after Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, several videos of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)’s dance party have surfaced. It is being claimed that CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, along with other students, gathered at a hotel to celebrate. The videos, captioned “Resignation Party,” are doing rounds on social media. In one of the videos, Das was seen dancing with others. In another video, a female student was seen dancing to the song ‘Beautiful’. Senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani questioned their actions. In an X post, he wrote: “Can’t believe it? CJP leadership is celebrating victory in a hotel! After witnessing violence in Delhi for several days, these so-called youth activists are now playing music and dancing.” This is Gen Z style, says CJP spokesperson Saurav Das After questions were raised over a video of a dance party at a hotel, Das wrote on X that it only proves that the government and some people do not understand the mindset and language of today’s Gen Z and younger generation. He said, “We can sit on the streets and protest for as many days as necessary. We can protest while dancing. We can organise a movement while drinking cold coffee.” Das added: “We do not need to look the way previous generations think a protest should look to fight for change. (This is not meant to insult anyone.) Our generation is like this—confident, creative, strong, and impossible to fit into any fixed image. Let the uncles and aunties keep complaining; they will have to adapt to us.” Abhijeet Dipke was not seen at the party Abhijit Dipke was not seen at the party. On Sunday, after meeting Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal at his residence, he said that talks were underway with the government to ensure that no student is booked in a case. His meeting with Sibal is being seen as an effort to seek legal advice. Sibal is considered one of India’s most senior lawyers and has been practising in the Supreme Court for over four decades. ​
