Maharishi Sandipani Guru Parv To Be Celebrated Across MP On Guru Purnima

On the occasion of Guru Purnima, 29 July, the Maharishi Sandipani Guru Parv will be celebrated across Madhya Pradesh with grandeur under the inspiration and guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.

All government and private schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions in the state will organize Guru Pujan, cultural and literary programs, student-teacher dialogues, and various activities based on the Indian Guru-Shishya tradition.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister will launch the Bhagwan Shri Krishna Meritorious Scholarship Scheme, organized by Shri Krishna Pathey Nyas. The competition will be based on the 14 Vidyas, 64 Arts, Maharishi Sandipani, and Indian knowledge tradition mastered by Lord Shri Krishna. Under the scheme, 102 meritorious students will receive a one-time scholarship of ₹1,00,000 each. Winners will be selected through a lottery system. This was announced by Shri Ram Tiwari, Cultural Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chief Executive Officer of Shri Krishna Pathey Nyas.

Scholarship Aims To Connect New Generation With Indian Knowledge, Culture And Values

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ram Tiwari said that Lord Shri Krishna’s personality was shaped not only by his divine acts and valour, but also by the education, values and discipline he received at Maharishi Sandipani’s Ashram. There, he imbibed wisdom, service, patience, duty, patriotism and leadership through the 14 Vidyas, 64 Arts and Indian knowledge tradition. It was this Guru-Shishya tradition that made him a Jagadguru.

Inspired by this ideal, the Bhagwan Shri Krishna Meritorious Scholarship aims to encourage students to study the 64 Arts, 14 Vidyas and Indian knowledge tradition, and strengthen the values of knowledge, culture and character that build the nation.

Under the scheme, 51 students from schools and 51 students from colleges/universities across the state will be selected. Each will receive ₹1,00,000 as a one-time scholarship from Shri Krishna Pathey Nyas.

Tiwari further said that Maharishi Sandipani created a world leader like Lord Shri Krishna and gave the message that great teachers build great society and great nations. Today, it is essential to reconnect the new generation with Indian knowledge tradition, values and respect for teachers.
