Big Industrial Win For Chhattisgarh: Centre Approves Rs 3,000 Cr Electronics Manufacturing Cluster In Rajnandgaon

Chhattisgarh has secured a major industrial breakthrough under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India (MeitY) has approved the setting up of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) in Village Patewa, Rajnandgaon district.

The ambitious project is expected to generate nearly 9,000 jobs and attract investments of over Rs 3,000 crore, marking a significant step toward positioning Chhattisgarh as a key electronics manufacturing destination.

Rs 432 Cr Project With Rs 210 Cr Central Assistance
Under the EMC 2.0 scheme, the Government of India has approved a central assistance of Rs 210.56 crore against the total project cost of Rs 432.08 crore.

The project will be implemented by the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC).

This will be the second major electronics cluster in the state after the one established in Nava Raipur. It will significantly enhance the availability of modern infrastructure and industrial plots for industries.

Anchor Units Show Interest: Rs 365 Cr Initial Investment Proposed
Four anchor units from the semiconductor, Electric Vehicle (EV) and smart electronics sectors have already expressed interest in the cluster. These companies have proposed an initial investment of around Rs 365 crore.

The cluster will be developed over 306.56 acres of land, with 150.56 acres earmarked for industrial plots. It will feature ready-built factories, power and water supply, warehouses and other modern industrial facilities. All statutory approvals have been obtained and the project is fully ready for implementation.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Electronics & IT Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw for the approval.

“The continuous support and guidance of the Central Government is helping Chhattisgarh rapidly build a new identity in electronics manufacturing,” the CM said.

He added that EMC 2.0 is proof that Chhattisgarh has now become a reliable and capable destination for national-level manufacturing industries. The cluster will create nearly 9,000 quality and long-term jobs for the youth of the state.

The state government will also align technical and vocational training institutes with industry requirements so that local youth can access employment opportunities as soon as recruitment begins.

Fast-Track, Transparent System For Investors
Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan said the state government has developed a fast and transparent system for industries.

Through the ‘One-Click’ single window system, land allotment and all necessary clearances are being provided within stipulated timelines so that investors can start their projects without unnecessary delays.

Boost To Make In India, Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat
The project will give fresh momentum to national initiatives like Make in India, Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. It will also significantly boost India’s electronics manufacturing capacity, component production and value addition.

More importantly, it will serve as a milestone in establishing Chhattisgarh as one of India’s emerging electronics manufacturing hubs.
