On the auspicious occasion of Hareli, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai attended the house warming ceremony of the new government residence of Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma.

The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the Revenue Minister and his family on the occasion of Griha Pravesh and Hareli Tihar.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the house warming ceremony and Hareli festival organised at the new official residence of Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma in Nava Raipur on the auspicious occasion of Hareli Tihar. Congratulating Shri Verma and his family on entering the new house, the Chief Minister wished them a happy, prosperous and auspicious life. He also extended his best wishes to the public representatives and citizens present on the occasion of Hareli, the first folk festival of Chhattisgarh. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh was specially present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the housewarming ceremony of Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma in his new government residence on the auspicious occasion of Hareli makes the occasion even more special. Hareli is a festival deeply connected to our agricultural culture, nature, and rural life. On this day, farmers express their gratitude to nature by worshipping agricultural tools and cattle, praying for good rains, abundant harvests, and family prosperity. This festival symbolizes the rich tradition of Chhattisgarh, in which nature, agriculture, and folk life are deeply intertwined.

Farmers are the axis of Chhattisgarh’s progress: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that agriculture is the strong foundation of Chhattisgarh’s economy and rural life. Farmers are the pivot of the state’s progress, and Chhattisgarh’s prosperity lies in their prosperity. The state government is continuously working to increase farmers’ income, make farming profitable, and expand new possibilities in the agricultural sector.

He said that ensuring farmers a better price for their produce is the government’s priority. In the state, up to 21 quintals of paddy per acre is being purchased from farmers at a rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal. This has strengthened the economic condition of farmer families and given a new impetus to the rural economy.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that irrigation facilities are also being rapidly expanded to increase agricultural productivity. Our effort is to ensure that as many agricultural areas as possible have access to assured irrigation, so that farmers can reduce their dependence on rainfall and achieve better production.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that to increase farmers’ income, instead of limiting them to traditional farming, emphasis is being placed on connecting them with allied and income-generating activities related to agriculture. He said that through various schemes, the double-engine government of the central and state is encouraging farmers to adopt modern agricultural techniques, irrigation, agricultural mechanization and other income-generating activities.

He said that if farmers are economically strong, villages will be strong, and if villages are strong, the pace of building a developed Chhattisgarh will accelerate. The interests of farmers are at the center of government policies, and work is being carried out in a planned manner to make farming more prosperous and profitable.

The series of festivals in Chhattisgarh begins with Hareli: Dr. Raman Singh

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, while wishing the people of the state a happy Hareli festival, said that Hareli is an important festival in Chhattisgarh’s folk culture and agricultural tradition. Hareli marks the beginning of a joyous series of festivals in the state. Today, all of Chhattisgarh is awash in the colors of Hareli.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Singh said that this year’s good rains have enthused farmers and raised hopes for a better harvest. He prayed to God that the state’s fields and barns would flourish with good harvests, that farmers’ homes would be filled with prosperity, and that Chhattisgarh would continue to progress. He extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma and his family on their housewarming ceremony at their new government residence.
